Be sure to check our News page for more information on all classes
LEARN TO SPIN WITH A DROP SPINDLE, with Cat Lee, Sunday, June 29, 1-4 $35.00. Have you ever wanted to spin you own yarn or see how to do it? People who spin say its very relaxing, in a zen sort of way. Here is an easy and portable way to give it a try. Cat is an accomplished spinner and a very patient instructor. She will also be bringing a spinning wheel to the class to give a demonstration. The techniques used to make
yarn with a drop spindle are similar to those used with a spinning wheel. There will be a $15.00 materials fee for the drop spindle and roving. |
LEARN TO HAND PAINT YARN with Cat Lee, Saturday, July 12, 1-4, $35.00. Need we say more? Sign up to make your own fabulous yarn colors! Hand painted yarns are gorgeous--the favorite of many knitters--and are more expensive due to the process. But you will save money if you dye your own. Learn how to hand paint un-dyed fibers, using a nontoxic technique. It's easy and fun and just the slightest bit messy! Fine Points has a variety of un-dyed fibers (including Sock Yarn) in 100 yard skeins that are available for this class. Along with the un-dyed fiber, bring a pair of rubber gloves and wear old clothes or an apron. Please note: This class is limited to 10 participants. |
| BEGINNING KNITTING with Susan McNamara, Sunday, July 13, 1-4, $35.00. This Beginning Knitting class is for those who have never knit or for those who need a refresher. |
