CLASS SCHEDULE
Fine Points offers a wide variety of projects that should capture the imagination of its diverse family of clients. Besides the opportunity to learn something new, these classes offer a chance to meet new friends who share similar interests. Samples of garments and techniques will be on display at the store.
To reserve space in a class, payment in full is required when you register. Unless otherwise noted, classes are $35 (unless otherwise specified) and times are noted with each listing. Students receive a 10% discount on purchases for the class. If a class is cancelled, you may choose between a Fine Points store credit or a refund. We require that you call the store 2 days in advance of your class if you wish to cancel and receive a store credit.
Create-A-Class: Don't see what you want? Collect two friends and tell the staff what you'd like and when; we'll try to accommodate you.
***Book a Birthday Party! See a class you like? Book it for your friends and birthday buddy. If you provide the cake, we'll provide the coffee and tea.
FELTED FLOWERS with Fran Steinbock
Sunday, February 12, 2012, 1-4pm, $35.00
This class will focus on making flowers using the "Wet Felting" method. You will learn how to make felt fabric with roving. In the construction process you will learn how to shape and assemble your felt pieces into the petal and stamen parts of a flower. These flowers are a nice embellishment on a felted bag or a fun wearable art piece. The best part is they never wilt!

LEARN TO KNIT with Craig McDonald

There is something magical about taking yarn and watching it become fabric before your very eyes. This class is for those who have never knitted AND for those who need a refresher.

MAGIC LOOP HANDWARMERS with Cyndi Marshall
Saturday, February 18, 2012, 1-4pm, $35.00
Learn to knit Handwarmers using the magic loop method for knitting in the round. This is an alternate way of knitting in the round without the use of double pointed needles, by using one long circular needle instead of five! Handwarmers continue to be a very popular item for both men and women and will make great Holiday gifts. Cyndi's Handwarmers are made using Noro Silk Garden or Kureyon. These yarns have long color repeats making each handwarmer its own work of art!

FAIR ISLE HAT CLASS with Anne Barach
Saturday, February 18, 2012, 1-4pm, $35.00
Fair Isle knitting, or knitting with 2 colors at a time, one in each hand, is a great skill to know. It's not difficult and it's a lot of fun! Anne has designed a hat with a snowflake motif as the class project using this technique. Besides learning fair isle, students will also become familiar with how to read a colorwork chart and knit a hat in the round. We ask you to knit the rib band prior to class for homework so class time can be spent learning the fair isle technique.

CROCHET CLASS FOR ALL with Anne Barach
Saturday, February 25, 2012, 1-4pm, $35.00
Attention to all you knitters who never thought knowing how to crochet was important, yes, I mean YOU! Being handy with a crochet hook is a valuable skill, even if you only ever use it for knitting projects. Slip stitch is used in a provisional cast on. Single, double and backward crochet is frequently used for borders, edgings and buttonholes of your knitted garments. There are also techniques for assembling knitted garments with crochet. Anne is going to teach you the basics as well as show you how to read a crochet pattern.
