The yarn is untreated so it must be washed by hand or it will felt. Though the yarn is a single-ply, our dyeing process strengthens and slightly felts the yarn, making it plump and stronger than you’d expect. The yarn has a loftiness that allows for it to be knit at multiple gauges – as is reflected in the gauge range we list above. Our unique and intense dyeing process creates smooth gradations in deeply saturated colors.
